Polycom VVX – Auto Provisioning your phone

Our “Device Provisioning” platform enables you to provision any Polycom phone from the VVX family. If you have purchased a handset with our provisioning URI installed go to Step 4 below.

Step 1: The VVX family phones Web UI

  1. Log into the phones Web browser to apply our provisioning URI
  2. Select the Home Button on the right side of the phone.
  3. Select > Settings > 4. Status > 2. Network > 1. TCP/IP Parameters > IP (copy the IP address – eg 192.168.1.25).
  4. In your browser retype the phones IP address (eg 192.168.1.25)
  5. Go to Settings > Provisioning Server
  6. Set Server Type > HTTPS
  7. Set Server Address > https://poly.l2access.com.au
  8. Save.

Step 2: MAC address

You will need to take a copy of the phones MAC address which is the phones unique identification number.

  1. Go to Home
  2. Copy the MAC address

The MAC address is displayed using a number in the following format (00:04:F2:B0:6A:8C). Remove the colons so you end up with a number as follows: 0004F2B06A8C.

Step 3: Associating the Phone with a YourCloudTelco phone number

Matching the phones MAC address (same as Polycom serial number) with the phone number you want associated is the final (and easiest) step in our provisioning process.

  1. Log into your Account, and click on Tools, under the subheading select Device Provisioning.
  2. Select Add device.
  3. Copy the MAC address into the MAC address field (ensure you remove the colons).
  4. Choose DID from the line number selection list (supports up to 5 separate lines).
  5. Select VLAN if the phone is using a Metro Voice VLAN configured router.
  6. TLS encryption: We recommend leaving TLS as default however select UDP if no encryption is required.
  7. Select ADD to add the phone and MAC address to our provisioning database.
  8. Restart the phone.

  • Power on the phone.
  • Confirm that the PC and phone are on the network.
  • Enter phone's IP address into your supported web browser. To display the phone's IP address, press Menu > 2 (Status) > 2 (Network) > 1 (TCP/IP Parameters).
    • For Username, enter: Polycom.
    • For Password, enter: 456.

The Simple Setup Menu

The Simple Setup menu provides access to the minimum configuration settings you need to configure your phone to work. When you click the Simple Setup menu on the primary menu bar, the Language, Time Synchronization, SIP Server, SIP Outbound Proxy, and SIP Line Identification headings are displayed, as shown next.

The Simple Setup menu is designed to help you quickly configure the most commonly used settings and features. These settings are also located in other menus throughout the Web Utility. Settings you apply in the Simple Setup menu are automatically set in the other areas.

  • Language You can use the drop-down menu to select the language that your phone displays. You can also specify the phone language by choosing Preferences > Additional Preferences.

Factory Reset

  • Log into the phones Web browser to apply our provisioning URI
  • Select the Home Button on the right side of the phone.
  • Select > Settings > 2. Advanced > (Enter Password) 1. Administration Settings > 5. Reset to defaults 5. Reset to factory.
